Game of Thrones has tons of awesome quotes and advice. I cherry picked the best advice and most of it comes from the most evil characters, but oh well.
1.
“You've been running all your life. Terrible things happened to your family and you weep. You sit alone in a darkened room mourning their fates. You've been a bystander to tragedy from the day they executed your father. Stop being a bystander. Do you hear me. Stop running. There's no justice in the world, not unless we make it. You loved your family..avenge them.”
Petyr Baelish
This is the best piece of advice in all of Game of Thrones. Petyr Baelish and Sansa Stark are riding to Winterfell so he can marry her off to Ramsay Snow/Bolton and naturally she refuses. Ramsay and his father Roose Bolton fatally betrayed her mother and brother. So, in the context it seems like he is just manipulating her. However, it's still great life advice. Don’t be a bystander in your own life. Being naive and believing that people are fair or just will probably result in people taking advantage of you. Don’t let that happen. Fight for the the things you want.
2.
“You know what I learnt losing that duel? I learnt that I'll never win. Not that way. That's their game, their rules. I'm not going to fight them: I'm going to fuck them. That's what I know, that's what I am, and only by admitting what we are can we get what we want.”
Petyr Baelish
Another Awesome Littlefinger Quote. This is what Littlefinger says to Ros and another prostitute in his employ after he tells them his story. How he was in love with Catelyn Tully, but lost the duel to win her hand against Brandon Stark. He then realized that he was playing a game he couldn’t win. Although I don’t encourage anyone to a manipulate and take advantage of everyone that they meet like Littlefinger does, I still think it’s great advice. It’s important to understand the game that other people are playing. If that game doesn’t suit you, then don’t play it. Create your own game, your own rules, and your own options.
3.“You're the mother of dragons. Show your strength”
Daario Naharis
Some people think Daario is just trying to manipulate Daenerys into killing the Wise Masters of Meereen and that may be true, but it’s still great advice. Know what your strengths are and use them to your advantage. For example, if you are great at thinking on your feet then use it to your advantage in Consulting or in building a new business.
4.
“Women in Our Position have to make the most of our situation”
Margaery Tyrell
This is great advice for anyone. Margaery gives Sansa this advice when she is consigned to the fate of marrying Tyrion when she thought she was going to marry Loras Tyrell, but it's great advice for anyone. Make the most of your situation, no matter what that situation is. The happiest person I’ve ever met was a homeless man that I met in Miami. Even though he was homeless, he was working 3 jobs doing whatever he could to get by. He would sweep floors for shop owners, clean, put up signs for people, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s no longer homeless and he’s actually thriving now.
5.
“Chaos is a ladder”
Petyr Baelish
Another badass quote from Petyr Baelish. This is the truest thing I've ever heard. When things are chaotic, i.e when a company goes through a restructuring for example. A lot of people do lose their jobs at first, but the people left behind are often promoted much more quickly than they would have been otherwise. People that see a pattern or trend coming are often able to take advantage of it and succeed. For example, there were a lot of people that saw the great depression coming and bought stocks dirt cheap when the depression hit and then sold their stocks afterward to make huge profits.
6.
“When You Play the Game of Thrones, You Win or You Die”
Cersei Lannister
This is the one of the most iconic scenes in Game of Thrones. Cersei Lannister basically explains the Game of Thrones to Ned Stark after he tells her to run because he knows about her twincest. She tells him if you really want to win you don’t run. You fight or you die. This is amazing advice to basically never do anything half heartedly. When you want something, go hard or go home.
